The L’Oreal Group is the world’s largest cosmetics and beauty company. With its registered office in Paris and head office in the Paris suburb of Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine, France, it has developed activities in the field of cosmetics.

Loreal scale refers to the scales of a snake which lie between the eye and the nostril of a snake. These are analogous to the lore on birds which corresponds to the region between the eye and the beak.

L’Oreal is France’s and the world’s largest cosmetics and beauty products company. In 2006, it took over the Body Shop in a move that angered many of the latter’s customers, since L’Oreal uses animal testing in its laboratories – a practice contrary to the Body Shop ethic.
